Hanzi Practice (Chinese name: 笔顺练字帖, “the App,” “we,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we handle and how.
1. Information We Collect
The App does not require an account and does not upload your practice content to our servers.
- Characters you enter are processed on your device to generate practice sheets and PDFs. We do not collect or transmit this text to our own backend.
- Usage quota and unlock status are stored locally to provide free trials, share bonuses, and in-app purchase unlock. On iOS, sensitive counters use the system secure storage. We do not use this for advertising or read it remotely.
- App preferences such as language and light/dark theme are saved on your device.
- In-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may process transaction data under its own privacy policy.
We do not actively collect your name, email, precise location, contacts, or photo library.
2. How We Use Information
Local data is used only to:
- Generate stroke-order grid sheets and PDF exports;
- Enforce free trial limits, share reward caps, and unlock status;
- Remember language and theme settings;
- Let you share the App via the system share sheet when you choose to.
We do not sell your data, build advertising profiles, or use third-party ad networks in the App.
3. Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store handles distribution, purchases, and restore. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- System sharing: When you use “Share,” content is passed through iOS to the app you select (Messages, Mail, etc.). We do not receive data about your recipients.
The App currently does not integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
4. Storage and Security
Practice content is processed in device memory. Quota and unlock state use encrypted local storage on iOS. Uninstalling the App removes local data; purchased unlocks can be restored via the App Store.
5. Children’s Privacy
The App is suitable for learners including students, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe we have done so inadvertently.
6. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Clear input and stop using the App;
- Uninstall the App to delete local data;
- Manage purchase records through Apple;
- Contact us about privacy (below).
If you are in the EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
